Hi,
I’m Eddie Goldstein, a lifelong tech enthusiast and an early adopter.
My passion for technology and digital communication ignited in 1982, before the advent of the World Wide Web, websites, and the modern internet.
My expertise spans multiple disciplines within the internet and technology sectors.
As an aspiring polymath with relentless curiosity and a wide variety of interests, I have also explored multiple fields beyond technology.
My technical portfolio includes projects in web development, e-commerce, databases, and mobile apps.
In the realm of media and marketing, my skills include digital marketing, SEO, content creation, video production, and managing paid advertising campaigns.
My fervent interest in health and wellness has guided me through deep explorations into fitness, exercise, biohacking, psychology, mental health, neuroscience, and delving into ongoing medical research.
Additionally, my broad business experience ranges from starting multiple businesses and launching startups to leading corporate projects.
This combination of my technological knowledge and diverse interests, along with significant business experience, fuels my comprehensive perspective for solving challenges.
In 1983, I launched a Bulletin Board System (BBS), akin to today’s websites. Tinkering with hardware and software, I built a server and set up my first BBS on a floppy disk with just 1.44 MB of storage, eventually upgrading to a 10 MB hard drive—a concept that seems almost unimaginable today.
Technology was my obsession, so while other kids were playing football outside, I stayed at home, immersed in computer hardware and software.
During my army service, I was tasked with the development of a database application to manage the base inventory. This involved conducting a comprehensive systems requirements analysis, engaging with end-users to gather detailed needs and expectations. The skills I honed in this role have been invaluable, as I continued to design and optimize databases throughout my career in various positions.
After my service, I co-founded a business that provided backup services for companies, eventually expanding into a retail business that built and sold custom-configured computer systems.
I then transitioned to tech support, working as a senior support specialist and later as head of support for billing systems at a major cellular company. I also designed a CRM database application for managing help desk tickets.
In 1998, I transitioned into programming and landed my first job as a web developer in an internet startup in the e-commerce sphere. This was thrilling, as I had always aspired to be a programmer.
By 2000, I launched my first e-commerce startup after securing seed funds from an angel investor. The website was specifically designed and optimized for buying gifts for others.
I wrote the code using Notepad, and in the absence of off-the-shelf tools, I developed a secure credit card processing system from scratch. Additionally, studying human psychological factors, particularly their impact on purchasing decisions, was an essential part of this project and crucial for optimizing e-commerce strategies.
Designed the front-end and back-end of a web portal in the medical field, which included building a comprehensive directory of doctors, medical specialties, treatments, and articles. Developed a proprietary content management system (CMS) to support site functionality. Led the web development team, providing daily briefs and overseeing quality assurance.
Shortly afterward, I joined a major social media company as the lead developer and later as CTO. We were among the top five sites in the country. The role was particularly exciting as it involved developing websites with massive traffic and designing large databases with significant data volumes. We developed several social platforms and also became the nation’s largest picture-sharing platform.
My passion for health and fitness led me to establish a company focused on importing and distributing vitamins and health supplements. This venture also involved researching, writing articles, and organizing conventions to educate people about the benefits of vitamins and supplements for improved health.
In 2012, I was recruited as the co-founder of a mobile app startup centered on social buying. We developed a native iOS app, integrating with legacy POS systems of retailers. My responsibilities included defining processes, wireframing, managing server-side operations, and leading a development team.
With my love for photography, I transitioned into digital cinematography and videography, which perfectly blended my creative interests with the latest technology, allowing me to produce high-quality videos. I created several corporate videos, including interviews with company executives and features on product manufacturing processes. My role encompassed all aspects of production, including video editing, effects, and voiceovers.
With over three decades of passion for health, fitness, and exercise, I have thoroughly explored and gained deep insights into these fields. This enduring interest was skillfully integrated with my web development expertise when I launched a business in 2016, focusing on home exercise and workouts.
The website operated on the Amazon affiliate model and featured a wide range of informational articles about home workouts and exercise equipment. I authored a significant portion of the content myself, as well as managed external writers, providing writing briefs and overseeing their submissions.
Despite the highly competitive nature of the exercise niche, the website achieved notable success. Thanks to targeted organic SEO efforts, it managed to outperform and outrank much larger sites owned by major media companies in Google’s search results.
I have also supported businesses with targeted PPC campaigns through Google Ads, designed high-converting landing pages, and enhanced lead generation efforts that significantly increased sales.
In my spare time, I am a self-taught scientist who loves deep-diving into medical literature and analyzing studies across various fields. I enjoy reading about neuroscience and am also fascinated by psychology, mental health, and the exploration of altered states of consciousness.
I am also a biohacker constantly exploring new technologies to optimize cognition, brain performance, and physical fitness. In addition, I enjoy running and strength training.
If my background, experience, or any aspect of my bio resonates with you, let’s connect 🙂
